Cucumber salad Hoffmanns Giganta
Hoffmann's Giganta is a proven, absolutely bitter-free tall variety that produces dark green, about 40-50 cm long, very
delicious fruits.
Sowing: The earliest outdoor sowing from mid-April under wool, from mid-May to June directly on the spot. Sowing depth 1-2cm. Possible
also nut growing in pots.
Germination: After 1-2 weeks from a minimum soil temperature of 10°C, the optimum is 24°C. "Warm feet" with compost or horse manure is recommended.
Culture: Distance between rows about 100 cm, 30 cm in a row. 4 seeds per planting hole if pre-grown
in pots, 2 seeds per pot.
Location: Cucumbers need warm, humus-rich, loose soil, a good supply of nutrients and plenty of water. Sunny to partially shaded and protected from wind.
Flowering/Harvest: Harvest is approximately 80 days after sowing. The first fruits are harvested early so that the plant does not put all its energy into the first fruits and produce enough more.
Use: A very versatile vegetable. Extremely balanced ratio of minerals and very rich in vitamins. Low in calories.
